State Registration

Beekeeper Registration – To register as a new beekeeper or to renew your registration, follow the link to Queensland Government website. If you are a new beekeeper, you must register as a biosecurity entity with Biosecurity Queensland.

State Association

  • Queensland Beekeepers’ Association – The QBA represents its membership in liaison with the general community, media and government and is a great resource for professional and amateur beekeepers. They watch over the welfare of the industry and protect the interests of their members to ensure adequate return for their labour.

Identifying Pests and Disease

  • Bee Aware – Follow the link to find information on a variety of common and exotic pests of the honey bee across Australia, the impact these pests can have on the industry, and the important role the beekeeper has in protecting the honey bee. Every beekeeper should be familiar with established pests, the symptoms they cause and how to control them.
  • Queensland Government – The Queensland Government website is also a great source of information for diseases and pests specific to the Queensland honey bee.
